Incorporating retrievability in fixed implant-supported prostheses by transverse fixation in the ITI abutment system.
This article describes the use of the ITI implant system in rehabilitation of the maxillary anterior sextant of a 41-year-old patient. The Syn-Octa TS abutment system was used in this case, along with a customized transfer aid for intraoral positioning of these elements. This system offers the advantage of retrievability of the prosthesis in multiunit cases.
متن کاملA rationale for retrievability of fixed, implant-supported prostheses: a complication-based analysis.
PURPOSE This article presents a rationale for retrievability of fixed, implant-supported prostheses based on the incidence and variety of biologic and technical complications. The etiologies of these complications are also discussed, emphasizing the unpredictability of implant-based prostheses in the oral environment. MATERIALS AND METHODS Electronic searches of the MEDLINE (Ovid) database we...
متن کاملRelationship of Life Satisfaction and Satisfaction with Fixed Implant-Supported Prostheses in the Elderly
Background and Aim: The quality of dental treatment is one of the factors that affects life satisfaction in the elderly. Patients expect optimal function, esthetics, and speech from their prosthesis, while durability and technical considerations are also important for clinicians. In addition, social and psychological factors as well as costs can affect patient satisfaction. This study aimed to ...
متن کاملTreatment outcomes of patients with implant-supported fixed partial prostheses.
Implant and prosthesis success for 77 partially edentulous patients, provided with 97 fixed prostheses, supported by 230 Brånemark implants, in place for up to 12 years (mean 5.41 years), were documented in this study. Implant losses per location mirrored their placement, with no difference between zones I and II or between the maxilla and mandible. The implant success rate was 94%, and continu...
